Concepts, Elements and Institutional Practice

Abstract
This paper offers a systematic analysis of curriculum management in educational institutions. It distinguishes informal, non-formal and formal education, clarifies the meaning and scope of curriculum, and examines curriculum context and design. The elements of curriculum — aims and objectives, content, learning experiences and evaluation — are analysed in turn, alongside the managerial responsibilities of school leaders in planning, implementing, supervising and evaluating the curriculum. The paper argues that effective curriculum management depends on clearly stated objectives, contextual relevance, adequate resourcing, and continuous evaluation feeding back into design.
